About Mustang IRS

Hi,

I'm Duane Carling. I've been a car and motorcycle freak (mostly Shelbys and Harleys) since the early 60's. After graduating with a degree in Industrial Design, I worked for Borg Warner Corp where I got to help in the design of the world's first all plastic bodied car.

Following that I moved to Vail, Colorado where I built condos and restaurants, and got involved with Indy cars through Bob Lazier. We were Rookie of the Year in 1981, and we finally won it with Bob's son Buddy driving in 1996.

After moving to Salt Lake I started tracking down the T-5 independent rear suspension (IRS) designed by my friend Klaus Arning for Carrol Shelby in 1964. With the help of the Mondo Garage (owned by Paul Jensen) we've perfected the T-5, and adapted it to the new 05-08 Mustang.

Hope you enjoy the ride!

Thanks,
Duane Carling
